Grand Staircase Escalante: Slot Canyons
2020 By Aaron Johnson, Joel Anderson
About the Art
Welcome to the Grand Staircase Escalante, nature’s diorama of slot canyons. Slot canyons are an
uncommon type of canyon known for their steep walls and narrow floors. Some slot canyons are just a
few inches in width! And as rare as these magnificent, natural formations are, Grand Staircase
Escalante National Monument preserves and protects no less than 14 such canyons. The canyons draw
thousands of visitors each year to explore the winding paths, shady trenches, and riverbeds that lay at
the bottom of some of the canyons. Visitors also discover natural bridges, arches, mesas, stone
monoliths, and desert landscapes. Excited for our next trip to this national monument and Utah’s other
parks and preserves, our Anderson Design Group artists hand-rendered vintage poster art of one of our
favorite slot canyons. Available as a retro poster, classic print, metal sign, framed postcard, notecard, or
canvas, this artwork makes a fantastic centerpiece or conversation starter. To learn more about the
monument, be sure to visit the website for the Bureau of Land Management.
Enjoy our art outdoors by ordering your favorite designs on metal signs. Our all-weather, rust-resistant signs are ideal for any porch, barn, fence, warehouse, garage, or bar. Featuring gorgeous color printing, they offer a more casual look than canvases or framed prints.
