Great Sand Dunes National Park & Preserve: Sands Of Time
2018 By Kai Carpenter, Joel Anderson
About the Art
Take a vacation to America’s version of the Sahara Desert with a journey to Great Sand Dunes National
Park. This park, located on the eastern edge of the San Luis Valley in the state of Colorado, offers
149,000 acres of sand dunes and nature preserves. The dunes were formed by receding lakes and
prevailing winds which caused the valley to quite literally fill up with sand. Anderson Design Group
offers this vintage travel art by Kai Carpenter as an addition to our National Parks travel art series, all to
commemorate the dunes and the unique experience they offer. Remember a fond trip to the dunes with
a sweeping canvas or framed print of “Sands of Time.” And to learn more about the park and its
amazing nighttime vistas, visit the International
Dark Sky Association.
