Houston: Space City
2010 By Andy Gregg, Joel Anderson
About the Art
One of the largest cities in the United States, (and a rapidly growing city too), Houston, Texas has
much to offer to visitors and residents alike. Called the “Space City” for its significant past and
ongoing contributions to space exploration and space travel development, Houston is also known for its
many medical centers, universities, and corporate headquarters. In our own way of tipping our hat to
the Big H, our artists at Anderson Design Group put together a hand-made vintage travel illustration of
Houston, an art piece which takes inspiration from the Golden Age of Illustration. This illustration
style was in vogue in the 1950s and 1960s, right when space exploration was becoming a major
industry. To learn more about Houston and its many attractions, check out the Houston Visitors Center.
