Israel: Jerusalem, The Old City
2020 By Steven Garcia, Joel Anderson
About the Art
Welcome to Jerusalem, Israel, one of the oldest cities in the world. Officially founded in 1010 BCE
as the City of David, Jerusalem is truly a mecca of both religion and culture. Travelers to the Old
City can visit ancient sites like the Western Wall, the Dome of the Rock Islamic shrine, and the
Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The wall around Jerusalem is an attraction in and of itself, forty feet
tall, two and a half miles long, and eight feet thick. Furthermore, each and every building within
Jerusalem has a historic, traditional look to it, as municipal law requires that every building be
covered in Jerusalem Stone. That way, even the newer buildings in the city center maintain an
archaic appearance. Seeking to capture the history and wonder of the Old City in vintage poster art,
Anderson Design Group rendered a classic illustration of the city in the styles of the Golden Age of
travel art. Available as a poster, print, canvas, banner, notecard, postcard, or metal sign, this artwork
is the perfect souvenir or centerpiece. And to learn more about Jerusalem, be sure to visit the
website for the Jerusalem Conventions & Visitors Bureau.
