The park also extends protection over cultivated lands, scenic regions, terraced stone walls, coastlines, ancient roadways, etc. The region of Cinque Terre has significant cultural importance too, as the region has served as farmlands and vineyards to local families for over 1,000 years. Cinque Terre is even a UNESCO World Heritage site!
