John Muir National Historic Site, California
2024 By Aaron Johnson, Joel Anderson
About the Art
Just as it is important to preserve America’s wilderness areas, it is also important to celebrate the individuals who pioneered such conservation. As America’s most famous naturalist and conservationist, John Muir fought to protect the wild places he loved, places we can still visit today. Muir’s writings convinced the U.S. government to protect Yosemite, Sequoia, Grand Canyon, and Mt. Rainier as national parks. The John Muir National Historic Site is located in the San Francisco Bay Area, in Martinez, California. It preserves the 14-room Italianate Victorian mansion where the naturalist and writer John Muir lived, as well as a nearby 325-acre tract of native oak woodlands and grasslands historically owned by the Muir family. Celebrating this National Park Service site, this national historic site design and vintage poster art would be perfect for home or office decor. The art also serves as an excellent national park gift for the travel enthusiast in your life. As an original illustration, the design will look great as an unframed print, framed poster, notecard, postcard, metal sign, canvas, or mini canvas. Available in multiple size options, this hand-rendered nature illustration is fashioned in the style of 20th-century vintage art and the iconic travel art that first promoted the national parks and national monuments.
