Katmai National Park

Katmai National Park offers over 4 million acres of protected lands near the base of the Alaska Peninsula, just across from Kodiak Island. The park is most notable for its healthy population of brown bears, and the region acts as a nature preserve for that very reason. This means that all hunting is banned on the majority of the park’s lands.
