Katmai National Park
2015 By Aaron Johnson, Joel Anderson
About the Art
Katmai National Park offers over 4 million acres of protected lands near the base of the Alaska
Peninsula, just across from Kodiak Island. The park is most notable for its healthy population of brown
bears, and the region acts as a nature preserve for that very reason. This means that all hunting is
banned on the majority of the park’s lands. In this awe-inspiring illustration by Anderson Design
Group, we see Brooks Falls, one of the most popular bear watching sites in all of Alaska. Here the
regal brown bears fish for salmon, offering a sight like no other for onlookers. Remember a cherished
journey to the park, or show your love for Alaska’s great wilderness with this hand-illustrated travel poster.
