Long Island: Montauk Point
2014 By Michael Korfhage, Joel Anderson
About the Art
Montauk Point Lighthouse resides at the very eastern point of Long Island, New York. This is also the
most eastern point of New York State. The lighthouse was first constructed in 1796, making it a
historic site like no other. Montauk Point also served as a major fortification during World War I and
World War II. To celebrate the history of this region, Anderson Design Group fashioned an American
Travel poster of the lighthouse in an early-20th century style. Designed by hand, this vintage travel
poster captures some of the history and nostalgia that Montauk Point is so well known for. A lovely
wall decoration for any New Yorker or lighthouse aficionado, this illustration makes for the perfect
conversation piece. To learn more about the Point and its various attractions, check out the Montauk Visitor’s Guide.
