About the Art
A West African country rich in natural wonders and a diverse cultural history, Mauritania is known for its European, Arabic, and indigenous influences on the nation’s present-day societal traditions. Because much of the nation resides in the Sahara Desert, most of the country's four million inhabitants live in the southern, sub-Saharan region. That leaves huge swaths of the country undeveloped, a wilderness explorer’s and adventurer’s dream.
Inspired by both the history and natural beauty of Mauritania, Anderson Design Group’s talented poster artists hand-rendered vintage travel art of the nation, a retro illustration that shows two Mauritanian women and a child standing outside an ancient stone structure. Available as a poster, print, banner, canvas, notecard, postcard, or metal sign, this classic design would make a great centerpiece or conversation starter on any wall.
