About the Art
Pittsburg is famously known for being the “City of Bridges.” Why? Because this city has more
bridges than any other city in the world, even more than Venice, Italy. In fact, Pittsburgh boasts 446
bridges! And the need for so many bridges makes sense, as the city is constantly being bisected and
trisected by three different rivers that flow through the region. Anderson Design Group fashioned a
handmade aerial-view illustration of the city and just a handful of the bridges that connect two sections
of the city. Styled after the WPA-commissioned artwork of the early-20th century, this classical
illustration would make a perfect addition to wall decor. These vintage travel posters also make great
gifts! To learn more about Pittsburgh and the impressive engineering that went into the city’s bridge
network, click on over to Visit Pittsburgh.
