Rapunzel: Brothers Grimm
2025 By Aaron Johnson, Joel Anderson
About the Art
"Rapunzel" is a classic German fairy tale, most famously recorded by the Brothers Grimm, about a girl with magical, long hair who is imprisoned in a tower by a sorceress (Mother Gothel) and is eventually rescued by a prince who climbs her hair to reach her. The story, which involves themes of love, freedom, and deception, has roots in older folktales like the Italian "Petrosinella" and the French "Persinette" and has been adapted many times, most notably by Disney in the film Tangled. To celebrate a classic story that still entertains readers to this day, the artists of Anderson Design Group rendered this iconic book cover, vintage poster design, and classic literature art as a part of the Literary Classics Collection, celebrating great books of all genres in 20th-century-inspired art, poster art, and original illustrations. This retro art is available as a poster, print, notecard, postcard, canvas, or metal sign.
