Rhode Island State Pride

With an area of just 1,214 square miles, Rhode Island is the smallest state in the U.S. But that doesn’t mean that this little state doesn’t have much to be proud of. For example, Rhode Island kicked off the American Industrial Revolution in 1790 with the development and construction of Samuel Slater’s water-powered cotton mill in Pawtucket. Nathanael Greene, a decorated general from the Revolutionary War and the general responsible for defeating the British forces, was from Rhode Island.
