Route 66: American Freedom
2017 By Steven Garcia, Joel Anderson
About the Art
Route 66 is one of the most well known roads in the United States. The name is recognized by almost
everyone, and there is something nostalgic and very special about this iconic stretch of asphalt. Route
66 is about 2,448 miles long and was first commissioned in 1926. The road crosses 8 states and 3 time
zones! As Route 66 is a favorite thoroughfare for cross country motorcycling, Anderson Design Group
captured the wanderlust nature of the road with an early-1900s styled illustration of a group of bikers
making their journey along the route. A nostalgic reminder of something very American, this vintage
travel poster is the perfect gift for the biker in your family or for your favorite traveler friend. To learn
more about the famous route, check out the website for the Route 66 Springfield Visitor Center.
