Zambia is a wilderness paradise like no other. In addition to natural landmarks, the country is home to the “Big Five” five large mammal species that live on the African continent. These are the lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and African buffalo. Though the wilderness of Zambia is vast, the most famous place in the country is undoubtedly Victoria Falls. Twice the height of Niagara Falls and located on the border with Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls (indigenously called Mosi-oa-Tunya, or "Smoke That Thunders”), plunges a misty 108 meters into narrow Batoka Gorge. Spanning the Zambezi River just below the falls is Victoria Falls Bridge, a spectacular viewpoint to take pictures of the falls and enjoy its majesty.
