Virgin Islands National Park: Freedom Statue
Virgin Islands National Park comprises two major islands of the Virgin Islands archipelago, as well as 5,000 acres of the surrounding ocean. It is a national park, a tropical paradise, and a wildlife refuge all in one. The Freedom Statue, also known as the "Conch Blower," is located in Franklin A. Powell Park in Cruz Bay, St. John, immediately in front of the ferry dock. Installed on July 3, 1998, it commemorates the 150th anniversary of the 1848 emancipation of enslaved people in the Danish West Indies. Order this retro travel poster as a framed print, a canvas, metal sig, or as a postcard or set of notecards. To learn more about the park, visit the Friends of Virgin Islands National Park.
