Libertalia is an interesting fantasy travel destination because historians don’t really know whether it existed. It is said to have been an iconic 17th-century “free colony” of pirates and marauders, but the main historical source for Libertalia is Volume 2 of “A General History of the Pyrates,” a 1724 book that describes Libertalia. Little to no corroborating evidence for Libertalia beyond this account has been found. Vintage poster art provides the perfect style for depicting fantasy (and sometimes real but still mysterious) world travel destinations like Libertalia, and this original travel poster and hand-rendered art design will look great as an unframed print, framed illustration, notecard, postcard, metal sign, or canvas. Available in multiple size options, this whimsical travel art and world destination art was fashioned in the style of 20th-century vintage art and the iconic travel art and retro art that first promoted international travel.
