About the Art

Built around 352 BC and destroyed by an earthquake in 1404 AD, this stunning work of architecture was built as a tomb for Mausolus, a governor of the Persian Empire. Designed by Greek architects, the tomb was almost 14 stories tall, with a base more than 10,000 square feet. The tomb may have been destroyed, but it was so famous the name “Mausolus” became the root word for a number of modern-language words, including “mausoleum,” which is a building dedicated to storing the remains of deceased people. Vintage poster art and retro-styled travel art provide the perfect style for depicting world travel destinations, especially the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World! This original travel poster and hand-rendered art design will look great on any wall as an unframed print, framed illustration or poster, as a metal sign, canvas, mini canvas, or as a set of note cards or postcards. Available in multiple size options, this whimsical travel art was fashioned in the style of 20th-century vintage art.
