Black Beauty: Anna Sewell

With more than fifty million copies sold, Black Beauty is one of the best-selling books of all time. While cleverly teaching animal welfare, it also teaches how to treat people with kindness, sympathy, and respect. It was written in 1877 by English author Anna Sewell, during the last years of her life. Sewell died months after its publication, but she lived long enough to see her only novel become a success. To celebrate a classic story that still entertains readers to this day, the artists of Anderson Design Group rendered this iconic book cover, vintage poster design, and classic literature art as a part of the Literary Classics Collection, celebrating great books of all genres in 20th-century-inspired art, poster art, and original illustrations.
