About the Art

Even for those who have not been told what they are looking at when they first lay eyes on it, gazing upon Capulin Volcano makes one absolutely sure they are looking at a volcano, because the looming peak is a near perfect rendition of an extinct cinder cone. The volcano formed about 60,000 years ago, in a time when mammoths, giant bison, and short-faced bears were witness to its eruption. To celebrate the paths less traveled in national monuments (these places receive far fewer visitors than National Parks), Anderson Design Group poster artists hand-rendered an original illustration in the fashion of vintage poster art and travel art. This retro design and wilderness art is available as a poster, print, canvas, mini canvas, metal sign, notecard, or postcard. To learn more about national monuments across America, check out the website for the National Park Service.
