About the Art
Did you know that Catalina Island has its own bison herd? The same herd has lived on the island for
almost a century. The ancestors of the current herd were first brought to the island in 1924 for a motion
picture. Since then, the herd has lived on the island in peace, maintaining numbers of about 150 to 200
bison at any given time. Appreciative of the silent giants and their history, we created an original ADG
illustration of one of the mighty creatures standing atop the grassy bluffs of Catalina. Order this
vintage art piece as a complement to any room’s decor, or gift it to a friend. Posters from our American
Travel series make for great gifts for travel enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.
