France: Loire Valley, Château de Saumur
2023 By Derek Anderson, Joel Anderson
About the Art
The Loire River Valley in central France features 173 miles of gorgeous UNESCO World Heritage Sites. As a backdrop, Europe’s longest river, the Loire, flows past some 20 castles open to visitors—there are hundreds of stories and histories to be discovered, fragrant gardens to inhale, forests to explore, and wines to taste. The region is also famous for popular white wines such as Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc, rosés like Rosé de Loire and for its diverse selection of Appellation d’Origine Protégée wines. The Château de Saumur, originally built as a castle and later developed as a château, is located in the French town of Saumur, in the Maine-et-Loire département. It was originally constructed in the 10th century by Theobald I, Count of Blois, as a fortified stronghold against Norman attacks. Rendered by the artists of Anderson Design Group and fashioned after the vintage poster art and travel art of the 20th century, this classic vineyard poster will look great as a poster, print, canvas, metal sign, banner, notecard, or postcard.
