About the Art
The California Condor was labeled officially extinct in the wild in 1987, with just a few condors left in
captivity. Reintroduction efforts have been successful but slow. To this day, the species is still listed as
Critically Endangered. However, the bird species is growing, with about 463 condors living in the wild
and in captivity. At this time, there are even a few wild condors living in the Grand Canyon! Lucky
visitors to Grand Canyon National Park might just catch a glimpse of these magnificent birds,
particularly from high-elevation points within the park like Yavapai Point, Yaki Point, and Lookout
Studio. One might also explore the Vermilion Cliffs, Marble Canyon, and Navajo Bridge. Inspired by
the successful reintroduction of the California Condor into the wilds of the Grand Canyon, Anderson
Design Group handcrafted vintage travel poster art of the incredible birds in mid-flight. Available as a
poster, canvas banner, framed print, metal sign, notecard, or postcard, this artwork makes for a great,
retro home decor piece for any southwestern style and taste.
