Hamlet: William Shakespeare
2023 By Derek Anderson, Joel Anderson
About the Art
You can hardly utter the word “classic” without thinking of the great William Shakespeare! One of Shakespeare’s iconic stories is the tale of Hamlet. Written by William Shakespeare sometime between 1599 and 1601, Hamlet is Shakespeare's longest play, with 29,551 words all said and done. To summarize the plot, the ghost of the King of Denmark tells his son Hamlet to avenge his murder by killing the new king, Hamlet's uncle. Hamlet feigns madness, contemplates life and death, and seeks revenge. His uncle, fearing for his life, also devises plots to kill Hamlet. It’s quite the adventurous tale, but we won’t give away the ending here! The artists of Anderson Design Group rendered this classic book cover and poster design as a part of our Literary Classics Collection, celebrating great books of all genres in vintage poster art. This original illustration is available as a poster, print, notecard, postcard, canvas, or metal sign.
