Lake Tahoe: Sand Harbor

Aside from the Great Lakes, Lake Tahoe may be the most famous, well-known, and instantly recognized lake in North America. Just about everyone knows its name, and many have put Lake Tahoe on their “bucket list.” One of the most popular points of interest on the lake is Sand Harbor, a sandy beach with rocky shoals nearby and huge mountain peaks in the distance. The sand and shallow water make this protected bay perfect for vacationing families to spend the day frolicking in the warm sun and cool water.
