Memphis, TN: Beale Street Sunset
2019 By Derek Anderson, Joel Anderson
About the Art
Hear the Blues on every street corner or poke your head into a bar and listen to Soul music or Rock 'n'
Roll on Memphis’s historic Beale Street. This street has been entertaining guests and locals alike since
1841 when the street was first developed as an entertainment district by entrepreneur Robertson Topp.
Today, visitors from all over the world come to hear live music and to enjoy the authentic food and
drink that Beale Street has to offer. Some estimates indicate that 11 million people visit Beale Street
every year! Inspired by the immortal nature of this around-the-clock hub for entertainment, Anderson
Design Group handcrafted vintage poster art of the street, fashioning the artwork after early-20th
century WPA-commissioned artwork. To learn more about entertainment opportunities on Beale Street,
