Metropolis: City Of The Future
2026 By Derek Anderson, Joel Anderson
About the Art
Metropolis is a fictitious Art Deco-styled city that caught the eye of ADG founder Joel Anderson and his talented team of illustrators while they were researching ancient wonders, legendary landmarks, lost cities, and mythological marvels. This rendering of the city of Metropolis is inspired by the 1927 German expressionist science-fiction silent film directed by Fritz Lang and written by Thea von Harbou in collaboration with Lang, based on von Harbou's 1925 novel of the same name. Vintage poster art provides the perfect style for depicting fantasy (and sometimes real but still mysterious) world travel destinations like Metropolis, and this original travel poster and hand-rendered art design will look great as an unframed print, framed illustration, notecard, postcard, metal sign, canvas, or mini canvas. Available in multiple size options, this whimsical travel art and world destination art was fashioned in the style of 20th-century vintage art and the iconic travel art and retro art that first promoted international travel and adventure.
