Rocky Mountain National Park: Bighorn Sheep Herd
2025 By Mary Withers Kirkland, Joel Anderson
About the Art
All national parks have wildlife, but what one sees will depend entirely on when they visit, what part of the park they venture to, and good old-fashioned luck. For example, Rocky Mountain National Park is beloved for its bighorn sheep herds. Visitors flock to places in the park like Sheep Lakes and Horseshoe Park from May through August to maximize their chances of spotting the animals. To celebrate the park’s mascots, Anderson Design Group worked with talented digital painter Mary Withers Kirkland to render an original illustration of a bighorn sheep herd making its way through a narrow river valley. Mary’s unique stylization and lyrical sense of color capture the placid beauty of Rocky Mountain National Park, as well as the wildlife elements that make it so alluring. The perfect souvenir, an excellent home decor piece, and a perfect gift for the fan of national park art in your life, this national park poster would look good on any wall.
