San Antonio Missions National Historic Park: Mission Concepcion

About the Art

Welcome to the oldest unrestored stone church in the United States of America. The Mission Concepcion unit of San Antonio Missions National Historical Park features rare surviving frescoes and other unique 18th-century architectural symbolism, making it a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a National Historic Landmark, and an active Catholic parish all in one. Beginning in 1718, the missions became the center of a turning point where drought, European diseases, and colonization led Indigenous tribes to assimilate into Spanish culture, religion, diet, and economy. Available as a poster, framed print, notecard, postcard, metal sign, or canvas, this original national park art would look great on any wall. For a full list of national park sites in all 50 states, check out the official website for the National Park Service.
