Virginia State Pride
2019 By Derek Anderson, Joel Anderson
About the Art
Did you know that Virginia was the first successful British colony in North America? Sure enough,
Jamestown, Virginia was settled by about 100 men in 1607. As many as 90 percent of the settlers died
from disease and starvation by 1610. But the colony survived, and it was able to establish itself in the
region. For the last 400 years, Virginia has played an integral role in American history, from the
Revolutionary war to the Industrial Revolution, the Civil War, the Civil Rights and Workers’ Rights
movements, and so on. To celebrate the state and its proud history, Anderson Design Group
handcrafted a vintage travel poster of Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello. What better way to show your
state pride than with classic illustrations that inspire nostalgia and romance of the places you’ve lived
or visited? Available as a print, banner, canvas, postcard, notecard, or metal sign, this artwork looks
great on any wall, mantlepiece, or coffee table. And to learn more about the Old Dominion State, check
