Bring State Pride into Your Home

Bring State Pride into Your Home

No matter how far we roam, there’s no place quite like home, and home can mean more than just the house we live in. Home is also the U.S. state where we reside, raise our families, pursue our careers, and interact with our communities.

To celebrate the beautiful things about home, Anderson Design Group’s award-winning poster artists created thousands of original illustrations styled in the tradition of vintage poster art, American travel art, and retro design.

From United States map art featuring American National Parks and travel highlights to illustrations showcasing the best places in all 50 states, these collections carry on the traditions of vintage poster art while simultaneously acting as state pride centerpieces.

With map art, art of the U.S. states, American travel art, and National Park art adorning your walls, visitors to your home will know immediately that you’re proud of the places you’ve lived and visited.

Read on for the highlight descriptions and art previews of Anderson Design Group collections that celebrate state pride.

American State Pride Poster Art

Meant to conjure nostalgia and a sense of pride for one’s home state (or the state one enjoys visiting the most), the American State Pride poster art collection features original art of each U.S. state and depicts the states in all their glory.

For the State Pride Collection, the artists of Anderson Design Group have handcrafted at least one bold, iconic design for each of the 50 states. Featuring bright colors and a memorable image for each locale, this poster collection provides a stylishly brash way to show off your roots or the places around the nation that you like the most. These prints pair nicely with our best-selling American Travel series as well!

American Travel Illustrations

ADG’s largest art collection yet, American Travel features over 500 original illustrations celebrating the very best of the United States of America. Poster art from all 50 states is on display in this collection. Also, there are mini-collections of work within the American Travel series, like the American College Towns series.

Back in 2010, the poster art team at Anderson Design Group began creating travel posters of favorite American cities illustrated in the style of The Golden Age of Poster Art, which hails from the early to mid-20th Century. Since then, the work has grown to include over 500 designs celebrating the history and charm of America’s most beloved cities, natural wonders, and destinations. From cities to parks to historic places and natural icons of each state, this collection features the best America has to offer.

American National Park Art

What could be more American than the National Parks? Often titled “America’s Best Idea,” the concept of a nation-state setting aside land for conservation was not only unheard of in the U.S. when it was first proposed in the late 1800s, but the idea of protecting huge tracts of land from resource extraction (and other activities that might harm the land) was a new concept globally. Today, there are 6,555 national parks worldwide, and it all started with Yellowstone National Park in the U.S. in 1872.

Original National Park art and poster art is an excellent way to show pride in your favorite state or place. Inspired by the iconic WPA-commissioned artwork of the early 1900s, Anderson Design Group’s National Park poster series is meant to conjure nostalgia through design, to celebrate our American heritage and the gift of unbridled nature with pencil, brush, and stylus. The talented artists of Anderson Design Group are finishing what the WPA began, hand-illustrating original travel poster designs for all of our National Parks (with new angles and perspectives added all the time).

Art of American National Monuments and Natural Wonders

America’s 63 National Parks earn the most headlines in the U.S. for their incredible natural features, cultural importance, and historical value. However, they only represent a fraction of the total public landscapes the National Park Service manages. The NPS manages over 400 sites across the country, so even if you don’t have one of the 63 National Parks in your state, there will still be at least one (likely several) NPS-managed site(s) somewhere in your state.

These lesser-known yet no less iconic spaces are something to be proud of, so Anderson Design Group created the National Monuments and Natural Wonders poster art collection, a composition of original nature art and landscape art that features dozens of beautiful U.S. places managed by federal and state entities. Inspired by the success of the critically acclaimed National Park poster series, the artists of Anderson Design Group have been applying the same passion, technique, craftsmanship, and care to each illustrated poster design in this new series dedicated to favorite American scenic places.

Decorating with Coffee Table Books

Displaying your pride in the places you love most means more than just decorating your walls. What about that coffee table?

Anderson Design Group has produced five coffee table books that feature original art, text, fun facts about the places featured, visual guides, historical photos, maps, and more. These beautiful creations double as art, conversation starters, and a great way to pass the time.
