Exploring the Volcanic National Parks (by Mike Baker)

Exploring the Volcanic National Parks (by Mike Baker)

August marks the 102nd anniversary of three of our “hottest” parks: Haleakala National Park, Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, and Lassen Volcanic National Park.  Though both Haleakala and Hawai’i Volcanoes were established as their own separate parks in 1960 and 1961, their geologic magnificence led Congress (with the influence of Congressmen and their wives having dinner cooked over steam vents years before) to create Hawaii National Park in 1916, which included both volcanoes. Maui’s Haleakala is a dormant volcano that last erupted in 1790. Northern California’s Lassen Peak is an active volcano that most famously erupted in 1915. Hawaii’s (or The...

The 2018 National Parks Photo Contest

The 2018 National Parks Photo Contest

One of our favorite parts about coming into work each day (besides getting paid to draw cool pictures) is interacting with our fans. Y'all are the life blood of this company & your passion for travel (especially to America's National Parks) inspires us constantly. Last month, we reached out to our email followers & asked them to share their favorite Park memories with us. Thus began a two week process of reading, laughing, and tearing up just a bit as we read their stories & ooo'd and ahhh'd at their photography (gotta love the high def quality of today's cell phones)....

Designing Your Space: Living Room Edition

Designing Your Space: Living Room Edition

The living room is where stories are told. One of our favorite spots to express ourselves through classic wall decor is right here. We want guests in our homes to know where we're from, where we've been, and what we enjoy. Illustrated Guide to Great Smoky Mountains National Park: You Call this Research? (Part 1)

After the success of our 59 Illustrated National Parks book in 2015-16, we started thinking: what next? Sure, the book was a fun overview of America's greatest nature hubs but we were looking for a chance to really dig deep and focus on one area. We thought about making a book for the Grand Loop in Colorado / Utah. We thought about all the many wonderful parks in California and Alaska. The Smoky Mountains crossed our mind (they're only 3 hours from Nashville after all) but writing so in-depth about one single Park sounded like a pretty daunting endeavor. Enter Dan...

Social Media

Social Media

The coolest part about displaying our art on social media is the responses we receive. While it is fun to showcase our new artwork and offer free giveaways, connecting with people through our creations has been the most rewarding thing of all. We've teamed up with Nashville natives, National Parks explorers, HGTV Tiny House dwellers, and travelers alike to combine our art with their stellar spaces. Today we're featuring a Q&A with some of our advertising partners. The first is with local Nashvillian Marc Crosby about his Instagram photography and following that's been rapidly growing. The second is with a couple,...
