New Art Roundup!

New Art Roundup!

What have our artists been up to during the winter months? Well, the winter may be the "slow" season when it comes to travel plans, but it's the busy season for our artists and Creative Director!

The following sections provide an abbreviated round-up of the original art collections we've recently added new art to. See if any of your favorites are listed below, and visit our Collections page for a full view of all of our over 3,000 original designs.

Legends of the National Parks

This poster art collection featuring mythological creatures quickly became one of our most popular after we launched it, so we decided to add four more original designs to our mythical creatures list. These American folklore creatures are said to inhabit the national parks, but some people have spotted these beasties in other rural parts of the country and even in some cities.

Do they exist in real life? Well, they certainly are alive and well in our imaginations! New to the collection are the following:

Shenandoah National Park's Wampus Cat. Friend or foe? We still don’t know. Cherokee legends tell tales of a woman who was turned into a feline creature. Ever since, people visiting the region that is now Shenandoah National Park have reported sightings of the Wampus Cat creature. According to eyewitnesses, the stealthy cat has razor sharp teeth, glowing green eyes, retractable claws, and a seemingly intentional habit of letting itself be spotted (but rarely photographed) by lone hikers and wilderness explorers.

Sasquatch of Kings Canyon National Park. The woods of California, and especially the national parks of the West Coast, seem to be the preferred home of Sasquatch. Hulking above most humans at anywhere from 6ft to 9ft tall, one would think Sasquatch would stand out in a crowd. But in the woods, this beast is particularly elusive, and though Sasquatch sightings number in the thousands, few have captured the creature on film. So we do the best we can with our imaginations and hope for a real look one day!

Wendigo of Acadia National Park. This beastie is perhaps one of the most frightening in the world. As the legend has it, the Wendigo was once a man, a hunter, roaming the forest looking for deer. But driven mad by his hunger, the hunter resorted to cannibalism, which turned him into a gruesome beast that looks like a cross between a haunted, emaciated deer and a tortured, rage-filled man. Our artists have depicted the Wendigo in Acadia National Park, as that is one of the places it's been said this creature has been seen or heard.

Yellowstone National Park's Jackalope. This creature may not be frightening, but the beast is certainly odd, and rumors surrounding the Jackalope creature are far more widespread than many other American folklore creatures, with photographs even suggesting the Jackalope existed at one point, though the authenticity of those photographs is disputed. A creature of fame and the focal point of many a tall tale, the Jackalope is said to be a horned rabbit that races across the plains, prairies, mountainsides, and riverbeds of Yellowstone National Park and other parts of Montana and Wyoming. They are normally peaceful, but it's been said they can become a 'bundle of fury' if startled or cornered, using their knife-like horns to the greatest advantage.

New River Gorge's Mothman. The Legend of the Mothman is one of the most gripping folktales in all of Appalachia! As the story goes, the people of Point Pleasant, West Virginia began spotting a frightening creature at night in the town and surrounding countryside. Dozens of residents said they saw the beast back in the 1960s, but no one ever produced hard evidence of the creature's existence. Nevertheless, the legend continues, and the creature is so beloved (and a little feared) by Point Pleasant families that they erected a statue to Mothman and even opened a Mothman gift shop.

National Park Art

Our most popular poster art collection and travel art display of original posters and designs is undoubtedly our 63 Illustrated National Parks art. We've added about a dozen posters to this collection in the last few months, primarily working with collaborating artist Arden von Haeger and our in-house studio artists on national park travel posters and illustrations of Channel Islands National Park, plus Virgin Islands, Wind Cave, Olympic, Cuyahoga Valley, and North Cascades.

Check out the full collection of national park art and travel designs here. This collection boasts over 400 original designs and was one of the first full and complete art collections of the national parks made under one roof. For Arden von Haeger-specific art featuring the national parks, visit his dedicated collection here.

Landscape Art and Travel Destination Art of American National Monuments and Natural Wonders

We counted at least 28 new posters in this collection, and we lost count after that point! We've been growing this collection most of all in recent months. We've so fallen in love with helping our customers decorate with the art of adventure and celebrate their travels, we've been on a mission to render original art of all the beautiful places across America, not just the 63 flagship parks.

More recently, our mission with this art collection has been to focus on the National Park Service sites that don't fall under the flagship "63 National Park" designation. This has been a task-and-a-half, as the NPS manages over 400 sites! At the time of this writing, we've created vintage poster art and retro travel art and poster art for at least one NPS site in every U.S. state, and a handful for Washington D.C., too!

New American Travel Art

All of our art is handmade by real humans, not AI, and it's made right here at our family art studio in Nashville, Tennessee. To seek inspiration for our art, we do a lot of traveling, both in the U.S. and abroad. Because the sky truly is the limit in terms of inspiration, our American Travel Collection has quickly grown to become our largest collection to-date. Enjoy over 450 original designs of our favorite places in all 50 states.

In the past few months, we've celebrated places like Tettegouche State Park, American college towns like Iowa City, Iowa, and we even created a mini-series to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Route 66, the ultimate American road trip destination.

And that's just the beginning. Do a keyword search in our search bar to find a specific place you'd like to decorate with, or scroll the American travel collection and see what jumps out at you. American Travel is available for your perusal here.

World Travel Poster Art

American travel is iconic and special in its own way, but so is world travel. To celebrate some of the iconic travel destinations around the globe, our artists frequently hand-render original designs and posters, prints, canvases, and metal signs of the world destinations we've been to and those we haven't visited yet but would still like to see.

Lately, we've been on a real tropics kick (no surprises, winter here is cold, and we love to daydream about a beautiful sun-kissed retreat!) To celebrate the tropics, our studio artists have crafted beautiful wall decor of Mexico, tropical islands, Guatemala, and more. These swoon-worthy illustrations are the perfect way to remember a trip to the tropics, or, if you haven't been there yet, to remind you of your bucket list travel destinations.

Nashville Art and Home Decor

Nashville is now the undisputed world champion in at least one category (that we know of, at least!) Nashville is the Bachelorette Party Capital of the World! That's right, more brides-to-be come to Nashville to celebrate than any other place, so we crafted three new art designs that celebrate Nashville's party animal side.

Whether you came to Music City for a bachelorette party or you just like Nashville-After-Dark, these cheeky posters celebrate Nashville's love for a good time. Check out the full Spirit of Nashville art collection here.

Book Cover Art and Literary Classics

Classic literature and illustration have had a long and glorious history together. If you have a fond memory of a cherished book, one that a long time ago left a profound impact on you, you can probably visualize the book cover in your mind's eye right this moment.

Great book covers and book illustrations have always enhanced and promoted great stories. As book nerds, we love the classics. As artists, we enjoy using our talents to celebrate culture and encourage adventure. Our Travel Poster Art commemorates special destinations. In the same way, our Literary Classics Art celebrates our favorite imaginary journeys, and this collection is one we've been spending quite a lot of time with recently.

Happy Holidays and New Greeting Card Art

Ask and you shall receive!

After immense popular demand, our artists and Creative Director finally relented and stepped into the greeting card space (it wasn't actually that hard of a sell for us, we love trying new things, especially when we can provide a new take on an old art style!)

ADG Creative Director Joel Anderson teamed up with collaborating artist Annie E. Cauffman to design and illustrate a dozen new poster illustrations, perfect as postcards and notecards and as home decor.

The dozen new art designs are ideal for creative and inspiring ways to celebrate a new season or say hello, thank you, or congratulations to a friend or loved one. See all twelve new greeting card art pieces in our Happy Holidays art collection.

More Original Art to Come!

The artists of Anderson Design Group use their imaginations, their training, and their tools to hand-render new art every week. We crossed the threshold for 3,000 original illustrations last year, and now we have our eye on a cool 5,000, so be sure to check back on your favorite collection for new designs!

Happy art browsing,
